Lamborghini has released a new teaser confirming that an upgraded Urus variant will debut on July 1, 2026. The announcement came with a brief caption, "A new chapter is taking shape," and a single shadow-obscured image of the SUV. The reveal will stream live on Lamborghini's website and YouTube channel, where additional details are expected to be shared.
The teaser photo shows a bright green Urus fitted with two spoilers — one positioned above the rear window and another mounted just above the taillights in the middle of the liftgate. The size and aggressive styling of these elements strongly suggest this is a high-performance version of the SUV rather than a standard model.
All signs point to the return of the Urus Performante, a variant that was discontinued in 2024. That model used a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 producing 657 horsepower, a step up from the 641 hp found in the regular Urus of that era. Lamborghini continues to use the same V8 architecture in today's 2026 Urus SE, though it's now paired with an electric motor as part of a plug-in hybrid system that generates a combined 789 horsepower.

Given that baseline, the next Performance-focused Urus is expected to push past that figure, potentially crossing the 800-horsepower mark for the first time in the model's history. Beyond the added power, the previous Performante received a retuned suspension setup with fixed springs instead of the standard car's air suspension, sharper rear-wheel steering, and a more rear-biased all-wheel-drive system. Expect similar mechanical upgrades this time around, along with carbon fiber trim and other visual details that set the performance model apart from the standard Urus.
The outgoing Performante also holds a notable record, having set the fastest SUV time at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, finishing in 10:32.064. It remains to be seen whether Lamborghini will attempt to repeat or beat that benchmark with the new version.

While the added power promises serious speed, the hybrid hardware will also add weight compared to the previous non-hybrid Performante, which could affect how sharp the SUV feels in more demanding driving situations. Still, with performance figures edging toward the 800-hp mark, this upcoming Urus variant is shaping up to be the most powerful version of Lamborghini's SUV yet, continuing a lineup that has reportedly been sold out well into 2026.
