Porsche Penske Motorsport closed out the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in style, winning the season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for the first time since the factory program launched in 2023. Laurens Vanthoor piloted the No. 6 Porsche 963 through a race disrupted by an extraordinary 16 full-course caution periods, navigating heavy traffic to secure the victory. The win also delivered teammate Kévin Estre his first career IMSA triumph.

Beyond the race win, the team wrapped up the year by sweeping every available honor in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Championship. The No. 7 Porsche 963 crew of Felipe Nasr, Julien Andlauer and Laurin Heinrich earned that distinction after grinding through a season the team described as one of its toughest yet, ultimately coming out on top in all three categories the endurance title encompasses.
Porsche's customer teams also turned in strong performances in the GTD Pro and GTD classes at the Road Atlanta finale. In GTD Pro, AO Racing found itself locked in a tense, door-to-door fight with Manthey for second place deep into the race. The battle was decided in the closing laps when AO Racing's No. 911 car ran low on fuel and was forced into a late pit stop, handing the position to its rival. Still, the AO Racing lineup of Nick Tandy, Harry King and Alessio Picariello held firm against repeated challenges and steered clear of the numerous incidents that plagued the field, finishing the season with a second-place result in GTD Pro.

In the GTD class, Manthey 1st Phorm delivered a podium finish of its own, giving Porsche a presence on the podium across all three classes contested at the event. The No. 912 Porsche 911 GT3 R, shared by Ryan Hardwick, Riccardo Pera and Morris Schuring, began the ten-hour race from near the back of the class grid but steadily advanced through the field as the chaotic event unfolded, eventually crossing the line in second.
The race's unusually high number of caution periods made for a demanding and unpredictable ten hours at Road Atlanta, testing strategy and patience across every class. For Porsche, the result capped a season that ended with victories and championship honors spread across its factory and customer efforts alike. Full results from the event are available through IMSA's official results page.
