Porsche Boosts Stake in Manthey Racing to Deepen Performance Partnership

Porsche AG has increased its stake in Manthey Racing GmbH, the motorsport outfit long associated with the German sports car maker's track-focused projects. The move is part of Porsche's broader "Sportwagenschmiede '35" strategy, under which the company is expanding its individualisation offerings across three pillars: Performance, which includes Manthey; Exclusiveness, covering the Sonderwunsch and Exclusive Manufaktur programs; and Heritage.

By deepening its ownership position in Manthey, Porsche aims to widen the scope of their joint work. Plans call for new special models produced in extremely limited, "few-off" runs, along with performance upgrade kits designed for enthusiasts seeking track-oriented enhancements to their vehicles. The expanded partnership will also bring exclusive track experiences to customers, giving them closer access to the kind of motorsport expertise Manthey has built over the years.

Porsche CEO Dr. Michael Leiters framed the increased stake as a natural progression of a relationship that stretches back a long way. "Manthey has been a trusted Porsche partner for many years, firmly rooted in the motorsport community and with a loyal customer base," Leiters said. "We intend to build on this."

The announcement fits into Porsche's larger push to position itself as a manufacturer offering deeply personalized vehicles and ownership experiences, rather than simply building cars off a standard production line. The Performance pillar, anchored by Manthey, is meant to serve customers who want their cars tuned and finished with genuine competition-level engineering, while the Exclusiveness pillar through Sonderwunsch and Exclusive Manufaktur caters to buyers seeking bespoke design and craftsmanship. The Heritage pillar, meanwhile, rounds out the strategy by connecting Porsche's history to its current and future offerings.

Manthey Racing has built its reputation through decades of involvement in endurance and GT racing, developing a name recognized among serious performance enthusiasts and racing fans alike. Its loyal following, built through consistent results and technical credibility, is seen by Porsche as a valuable asset to integrate more fully into the manufacturer's own customer offerings.

While Porsche has not disclosed the size of its increased stake or additional financial details, the company indicated that the partnership expansion is a direct outgrowth of the "Sportwagenschmiede '35" strategic framework. Further details on the specific special models, performance kits, and track experience programs are expected to be shared as the collaboration develops.
